Sets, Series and Ensembles Exhibition
October 2024
October 2024
As artists and writers we are constantly collecting ideas, objects, themes, and sentiments. Often trying to find the connections and narratives that will help us understand both our lives and our art. We sift everything, deciding upon our route forward. Sometimes we look back, to categorise our work for exhibitions, catalogues, lectures and selling.
Our autumn exhibition this year will be another exhibition on the streets. Artists/writers can exhibit multiple works (1-5) but keeping within the usual size limit for each piece (10cm x 10cm). These can be found objects or artworks that respond to the theme of Sets, Series and Ensembles.
We will photograph the work in situ, and invite a writers (or creative person) to respond.

Submit
Submission is by invitation. Send your physical artworks to either Dean, Alban, or Bryan's home address. Remember to keep artworks small (10cm x 10cm), as they'll be placed in a public area. Or alternatively send an email with your written, digital or film work to Dean, Alban, Bryan or to collectconnect4@gmail.com. Deadline for submissions 7th September 2024.
Placement of works
We will find a location for each of the art objects or written pieces or film
A First Responder will create a response that takes into consideration both the art itself and the location.
First Responders can be other artists, or writers or keen art lovers, so there is no uniform response.
Exhibition
As well as the art existing/exhibited in their location we will also photograph or film it. The photograph of the artwork and the First Response will be published here, on the website/blog, throughout October 2024. It will also feature daily on the CollectConnect Facebook page. Artwork cannot be returned (to the artist) for this exhibition. Part of the joy of this exhibition is to see how long the artwork remains in situ, and how the location might change around the art.
Theme
You do not need to create work specifically on the theme, but it is always more interesting if you give it consideration.
Your Information
When we publish the artwork/writing on the website we often include a biography of you. We're aware that some of you have been exhibiting with us for nearly 15 years. If you would like to update your biog then fill out this form - https://forms.gle/i2Uy784nijrwNRCZ7
It also includes a section for the artwork title, and any other useful information you might like us to consider when we place your art.
